The Yarra Valley

Our most popular tour destination encompassing magnificent views with classic wines from the wonderfully enticing Domaine Chandon, to the tasteful Killara Estate, the stately Rochford Wines through to the picturesque De Bortoli. Other great names such as Balgownie Estate, Sticks, Yarra Burn and St Huberts are complemented by smaller family wineries such as Seville Hill, Acacia Ridge, Elmswood Estate and Bianchet. The Yarra Valley is celebrated for its superb quality Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Methode Champenoise sparkling wines. A must for all wine and fun lovers!

Meeting time and departure between 9.15am and 10am, depending on the meeting place.

11am – Domaine Chandon – tour and tastings (add $5pp)

Moët and Chandon's premier sparkling wine production house in Victoria features some of the valley's most picturesque views. Experience a guided tour of the winery and learn how the wine is made. Then relax and enjoy a glass of their finest bubbly served with a delicious gourmet food platter.

12pm – Killara Estate – tastings and 2 course lunch and a glass of wine

The Palazzo family welcomes you to Killara. What was in the past a milking shed has been transformed into a warm and spacious Cellar Door. Made without the influence of new oak, the wines are for those who enjoy the fresh “fruit driven” easy drinking style which is so popular today.

2.30pm – Elmswood Estate – tastings

This small vineyard with "million dollar" views across the Upper Yarra Valley to Mount Donna Buang and Warburton makes an ideal setting for sampling Unwooded Chardonnays, Cabernet Merlots and barrel selected Cabernets.

3.45pm –Helen's Hill –tastings (or Coldstream Brewery)

Helen's Hill Winery features stunning views from the architecturally designed building. Tastings include: Brut non vintage, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot noir, Cabernet Merlot and Shiraz. .

4.30pm – Depart the Yarra Valley to return to Melbourne

The Macedon Ranges

A delightful combination of history and wineries centred around majestic Mt. Macedon and featuring Cleveland, Hanging Rock, Glen Erin Grange, Cope – Williams, Mt Aitken and Goona Warra. The region is noted for its cool climate wines, especially full-flavoured reds, delicate sparkling wines, soft reds and superb Rieslings. The Bud Burst Festival in November is a highlight.

11am – Hanging Rock Winery – tastings

Enjoy the scenic views across to Mt Macedon and the forest from the hillside tasting room. Wines include the Macedon Sparkling wine, Jim Jim Sauvignon Blanc and the wonderful Heathcote Shiraz.

12pm – Lunch Option – BYO picnic or takeaway, bistro/hotel or winery meal.

2.30pm – Kyneton Ridge Estate – tastings

Offers a complete experience that offers cafe style lunches, conferences, accommodation and more. They grow their own wine on site from hand picked grapes, taste their renowned Pinot Noir.

3.45pm – Gisborne Peak Winery – tastings

The friendly Gisborne Peak Winery produces a medium-bodied, spicy and berried Pinot Noir, lemony and lemon grassy Semillon and delightful Chardonnay.

4.30pm – Depart the Macedon Ranges to return to Melbourne or your pick up destination

Mornington Peninsula

With magnificent ocean and bay views from Arthur's Seat and surrounds, the Mornington Peninsula offers a delightful combination of gourmet produce and wine tasting at estates such as Main Ridge, Red Hill and Dromana. The region is celebrated for its Pinot Noir, Shiraz and very attractive Chardonnay, consisting of generous fruit flavours and gentle tannin, made possible by fertile soils and temperate climate. The Carnival of Wine festival is a highlight.

11am – Lindenderry

With the full range of wines available for tasting, covering several varietals, Lindenderry cellar door is relaxed and charming venue complete with staff who are passionate and knowledgeable about both their own wines and the Mornington Peninsula region in general.

OR

11am – Tuck's Ridge Estate - tastings

One of the largest and prettiest wineries in the region with impressive wines as well. Varieties include Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot.

12.15pm – Box Stallion – Lunch - 2 courses

This picturesque location complete with lake and resident swans, makes a perfect destination to sample standard Mornington Peninsula varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay as well as exotics like Tempranillo, Dolcetto and Arnies. They also boast an award winning Shiraz.

2.30pm – Red Hill Estate –tastings (add $8pp)  or another winery

One of the best views at any winery in Australia! Featuring a great restaurant and delicious wines, including Sparkling Blanc de Blanc, Sparkling Blanc de Noir, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Merlot.

3.40pm – Bluestone Lane Vineyard – tastings

Walk between the working open air winery and vines to reach their cosy tasting room. Handmade wines are produced in small batches and like fine wine Bluestone Lane Vineyard is still young and this is leading to more intense and long lasting flavours.

4.30pm – Depart Mornington Peninsula to return to Melbourne or your pick up destination

Geelong

Within easy reach of Melbourne are smaller boutique wineries such as Mt Anakie, Straughton Vale, Kilgour Estates and the award-winning Pettavel, renowned for their Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Gewurztraminer and distinct Chardonnay. The Queenscliff-Sorrento ferry can add another dimension to your tour.
